Built for everyday fixtures
The LUMIFARO LEDCTC8W40K is a compact CTC LED bulb designed to replace the tired incandescent and halogen lamps still sitting in lamps, pendants and ceiling fixtures across Canadian homes and small businesses. Its clear bulb finish is the detail people notice first: instead of a flat frosted dome, you get a bright, crisp point of light that looks great inside glass shades, open-bottom pendants, lanterns and decorative fixtures where the lamp itself is visible. At 95 mm tall and 35 mm in diameter, it stays discreet in small shades and shallow housings where a bulkier lamp would stick out or refuse to fit.
Light quality you can see
Light output is rated at 800 lumens from only 8 watts, which is the whole point of switching to LED: strong, usable brightness for a fraction of the draw of the old bulbs it replaces. The 4000K colour temperature is a neutral white — cleaner and more energizing than warm yellow light, without tipping into the cold blue of very high kelvin lamps. It is the go-to choice for kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, garages, workshops and commercial spaces. With a CRI of 80, colours stay believable: countertops, flooring, fabrics, merchandise and faces all look the way they should. The published photometric data shows a very wide distribution, with an average beam angle at 50% of 325.2°, meaning light spreads generously all around the bulb rather than firing in a single narrow direction — exactly what you want in a general-purpose lamp.

Electrical and dimming notes
This is a standard line-voltage lamp running on 120 volts, so no driver, no transformer and no rewiring — you install it exactly like the bulb you are removing. It is dimmable and works with most dimmers on the market, but dimmer loading is where most flicker complaints come from. Dimmers are generally rated for a maximum of 150 watts with LED bulbs, and the manufacturer strongly recommends not exceeding 80% of that capacity so the light stays steady when the dimmer is at its lowest setting. In practical terms, count your bulbs before you wire the circuit: a chandelier or a track of several lamps adds up quickly, and leaving headroom on the dimmer is the simplest way to guarantee smooth, silent dimming. Always cut power at the breaker before re-lamping, and let a hot bulb cool before removing it.
Applications and documentation
Concrete examples: three of these over a kitchen island on a dimmer for bright prep light that drops to a soft glow at supper; a pair in bathroom vanity sconces where 4000K neutral white makes grooming and makeup far easier; a basement stairwell or garage fixture that finally lights the whole space; boutique display pendants where the clear envelope adds sparkle; office, clinic and salon fixtures that need consistent, natural-looking light all day. Because the 8W LED bulb format is so common, it is also an easy standardization choice for landlords and property managers re-lamping several units at once — one bulb, one colour temperature, no mismatched rooms.
