What this accessory isThe HB8-AL-REF-SM is the
Aluminum Reflector - Small in the CSC LED HB8 accessory line. It is an optical add-on, not a light source: it mounts to the body of an HB8
LED high bay and surrounds the optic so that light leaving the fixture at wide angles is bounced back down toward the floor. Aluminum is the traditional choice for high bay reflectors because it is light, reflective and handles heat well near a running LED module, which matters when the fixture is mounted in a hot roof space above a production line. Because it is an accessory sold separately, you can specify it at the quoting stage or add it later to fixtures already hanging.
Compatibility — read this before you orderThe HB8 accessory chart is size-matched, and this one is the small body version: it is listed as compatible with the
100W and 150W HB8 high bays, meaning HB8-100W-3P-3CCT-UD, HB8-150W-3P-3CCT-UD and the white HB8-150W-3P-3CCT-UD-WH. The Large and Extra Large aluminum reflectors cover the 240W and 300W bodies instead. In the same small-body accessory group you will also find wire guards, frosted lenses, polycarbonate reflectors, yoke mounts, eye bolts, a security cable and interchangeable 60° and 120° optic lenses — so you can build the exact distribution your building needs. If you want a wider spread instead of a tighter one, look at the
120° optic lens for 100W and 150W, and for larger fixtures the
120° optic lens for 200W and 240W.
The fixtures it servesThe HB8 high bays it fits are
power selectable with three power settings per fixture and
3CCT selectable at 3000K, 4000K and 5000K. The 100W model delivers up to 14672 lm at 4000K on its top setting with a factory CCT of 4000K and CRI of 82; the 150W model reaches up to 21828 lm at 4000K with CRI 81. Both run 120-347V, are 0-10V dimmable with instant start, come with a 65" power cord, a black polyester powder-coat finish (white available on the 150W), shatterproof interchangeable optics and a motion sensor receptacle. They are DLC Premium listed. Adding a reflector does not change the wattage draw — it changes where those lumens land.

Where it pays off, and what else to addThink of a distribution warehouse with tall racking: a reflector helps push light down the aisle face instead of washing the ceiling deck. In a gymnasium or arena it reduces the glare players see when they look up. In food processing and grocery back rooms, where the NSF and IP65 rated HB8 already belongs, tighter control means fewer fixtures for the same footcandles. For code-required egress lighting, the HB8 works with the
BLD-GM40D emergency LED driver, which also needs the
BLD01-RC remote control and the UFO-EBU-KIT mounting kit. The technical PDF spec sheet for the HB8-AL-REF-SM is in the Documentation tab — download it to confirm the accessory compatibility chart before you finalize your order.
