Built for sign cabinets, not guesswork
The LS-E26-SKT is a snap-in sign socket designed to mount through a panel rather than hang off a bracket. The snap-in collar engages the cutout as soon as you push it home, and the integrated set screw then clamps it so vibration, wind load on a pylon sign, or repeated relamping will not let it rotate or drop back into the cabinet. That dual retention is the difference between a socket that survives ten years of service and one you revisit every season. Everything mounts from the face of the panel, which matters when you are working inside a shallow light box sign with limited hand room.
Porcelain housing and E26 contacts
The housing is porcelain, a material long favoured in signage and high-hour lighting because it handles lamp heat without softening or deforming the way lower-grade bodies can. The lampholder itself is a standard E26 medium base, the same base found on the overwhelming majority of North American screw-in lamps, so your lamp inventory does not change when the socket does. Because the socket is not a dimmable device, it belongs on simple switched or timer/photocell-controlled sign circuits rather than on a dimming system.

Installation and compatibility
Start with the cutout: Ø1.38" (Ø35mm) is the only opening this socket is made for, so use a matching hole saw or punch on your sheet metal, aluminum or polycarbonate back panel and deburr the edge before inserting. Push the socket through until the snap-in shoulder seats flat, then tighten the set screw to lock the orientation you want, which is useful when you need lamps aimed consistently along a row of channel letters. Keep leads clear of the lamp envelope, respect the 660W maximum per socket when you total up a multi-lamp cabinet, and never exceed the stated voltage rating on the circuit feeding it. Any lamp with an E26 medium base that stays within those ratings will thread in normally.
Where it earns its place
Think of the everyday Canadian jobs: a convenience store fascia cabinet that needs six sockets replaced after a winter of moisture, a diner's marquee border, a hardware store's backlit directory, display cases in a jewellery shop, or a custom fixture a contractor builds for a workshop. Sign shops buy them in quantity for production runs; service techs carry a few in the truck so a dead socket never turns into a return visit. The technical PDF (E26 SIGNAGE SOCKET) is available in the Documentation tab of this page with the full ratings, the cutout dimension and the base type, so you can confirm the panel opening before you cut a single hole.
