What this accessory doesThe
48 inch linking cable is a factory-terminated interconnect cord designed for the RP LBI 65 linear bar platform from Light Efficient Design. Instead of opening junction boxes and pulling conductors between every fixture, you simply plug one end into the outgoing port of a bar and the other end into the next bar. It is listed in the manufacturer's accessories chart under
CABLES + CONNECTORS, together with the 6IN, 12IN and 24IN versions, which means all four lengths share the same connection method and can be mixed within one project depending on how far apart each fixture has to sit.
Dimming and controlThe "-DIM" suffix in the part number identifies this as the
dimming linking cable: the conductors carry both power and the dimming signal from fixture to fixture, so a linked row responds as one. The manufacturer is explicit about one limitation worth repeating on the job site: linking does not include 0-10V linked control, and that behaviour will depend on the controlling device used in the installation. For runs that do not need dimming or colour temperature control, the non-dimming, non-CCT option exists in the same family — see the
non-dimming seamless connector for those applications.

Planning your runLinking quantities published by the manufacturer are based on using the LBI 65 conduit adapter with fixtures connected end to end: 4FT bars link up to 33 bars at 120V and 40 bars at 208V, 240V and 277V, while 3FT and 2FT bars link up to 40 bars at 120V, 208V, 240V and 277V. Two conditions change those numbers: linking cables will lower connectable quantities, and if incoming power cables are used on 120VAC the linking number is reduced to 24 pieces. Translation for the field: plan long runs on higher voltage where you can, count your jumpers, and if you are chaining many bars at 120V with power cables, break the run into several feeds. Related hardware includes the
3 ft incoming power cable wire whip and the incoming power conduit adapter RP-LBI65-IPC-12NPT-3FT, used with conduit to hardwire the incoming power cable into a fixture or junction box, with 3 ft of wire input included.
Applications and documentationConcrete examples: jumping a 48-inch gap across a structural beam in a warehouse aisle, keeping a continuous visual line in a parking garage where columns break the spacing, spanning between wash bays, or matching fixture spacing to joists in a workshop or garage ceiling. For suspended layouts, combine your cables with the
stainless steel waterproof aircraft suspension cable, 2 pack, and use shorter jumpers such as the
12 inch linking cable where fixtures sit closer together. The full RP LBI 65 technical spec sheet, including the accessories chart and the complete linking quantity table, is available in the Documentation tab of this page — download it before you quote a long run.
