A trim built to be seenA recessed light is really two parts: the housing hidden above the ceiling, and the trim that finishes the opening. The
GU10 trim in this adjustable square format is the finishing piece, and its job is both cosmetic and optical. The square frame sits flush against the drywall for a sharp, architectural line, while the inner gimbal holds the lamp and pivots so you can point the beam off-axis. That combination — static square outside, moving head inside — is what designers use when they want a disciplined ceiling grid but flexible, directional light underneath it.
Light quality is yours to chooseBecause the trim accepts a standard
GU10 LED bulb rather than an integrated light engine, you decide the character of the light. Warm tones for bedrooms and lounges, neutral white for kitchens, workshops and offices, a tight beam for accenting a painting, a wide beam for general room fill. If you want
dimmable performance, simply choose a dimmable GU10 lamp and a compatible dimmer. And when LED technology improves, or when the room changes use, you change a bulb instead of tearing out a fixture — a real advantage in rental units, staged homes and commercial spaces that get refreshed every few years.
Technical specificationsSKU / Model: LCTRIM-358-S-BS
Product type: ceiling housing trim
Shape: square, adjustable (tilting) head
Lamp base: GU10 (bulb not included)
Applications: residential and commercial projects
Family: LCTRIM-358 GU10 trims, available in round, adjustable square and round/shower versions
Installation and compatibilityThe trim is designed to complete a
GU10 recessed housing: mount and wire the housing first, according to your local electrical code, then install the trim and insert the GU10 lamp. Work with the power off, keep the ceiling opening clean and square, and give yourself the tilt range you need by planning the fixture a little away from the wall you intend to graze — usually a foot or so of offset makes a wall-wash look intentional rather than scalloped. In renovation work in older Canadian homes, where joist spacing and insulation dictate where holes can go, an adjustable head is often what saves the layout: the hole lands where the structure allows, and the beam still lands where you want it. Keep a consistent finish across a room, or deliberately contrast: this BS finish beside the
GU10 trim adjustable square in chrome or the
GU10 trim adjustable round can define zones in an open plan.
Where it works, and documentationThink kitchen islands and backsplashes, hallway art, fireplace stone, staircases, home offices, finished basements, and on the commercial side retail shelving, display windows, café counters, clinic waiting rooms, salon stations and small office reception areas. For showers, steam rooms and other damp zones, use the dedicated
GU10 trim round/shower instead of an open adjustable trim. No spec sheet or IES file is currently posted for this trim; any document added later will appear in the Documentation tab of this page, and our team can help you match
LCTRIM-358-S-BS with the right housing and the right
GU10 LED for your project.
