Surface On Board construction
Conventional strips place individual LED packages at intervals along the tape, which is why you see dots and scalloping on nearby surfaces. This SOB LED strip instead bonds the LED dies straight onto the flexible printed circuit board and covers them with a single uniform phosphor layer, creating one unbroken emitting surface. At 288 LED per metre, the density is high enough that the light reads as a solid line even when the strip is only a few centimetres from a shelf, a mirror or a ceiling cove. The result is a cleaner, more expensive-looking installation than standard LED light strips, with better brightness and uniformity than typical COB tape.
Light quality and output
Output is 1300 lm per metre for 9.6 W per metre, so a run can serve as genuine task lighting over a countertop or workbench, not just a decorative wash. Colour rendering is CRI greater than 80, which matters when the light falls on food preparation surfaces, wood cabinetry, paint samples, clothing in a closet or merchandise on a shelf — colours stay true instead of turning grey or yellowish. Because the phosphor layer is continuous, colour and brightness stay even along the whole length, with none of the patchy look you get when individual diodes age at different rates.

Electrical and installation details
This is a 24 VDC constant voltage product, so it must be fed by a matching LED driver or power supply; add up the metres you plan to install, multiply by the 9.6 W per metre figure, and choose a driver with comfortable headroom above that total. The strip cuts at the marked intervals and can be joined by soldering or with snap-on terminal connectors, and it mounts with its adhesive backing or, better, inside a clip-in aluminum extrusion channel. Those channels do double duty: the diffuser lens softens the line even further, and the aluminum body acts as a passive heat sink that helps the strip hold its brightness and colour over tens of thousands of hours. Keep the tape off raw wood and dusty surfaces when using adhesive only, and avoid tight kinks at corners — use a corner connector or a gentle loop instead. Because this is an indoor strip, keep it out of wet and damp locations and away from direct water contact.
Applications and documentation
Homeowners use it under kitchen cabinets, above crown moulding, along stair stringers, inside pantry and closet shelving, behind bathroom mirrors and in basement coves. Contractors specify it for reception desks, retail display cases, restaurant bars, bakery counters, hotel corridors and office millwork where a visible dotted line of LEDs would cheapen the design. Its 8 mm PCB width makes it a good fit for narrow routed grooves and slim profiles in custom cabinetry.
