What dim-to-warm means
The LS-FLI-4B-24-224-DTW2 is a dim-to-warm LED strip. Unlike a standard strip that simply gets darker when dimmed while keeping the same colour, a dim-to-warm strip changes its colour temperature as the light level changes. At full brightness it produces 3000K warm white, and as you lower the dimmer it shifts smoothly toward 1800K, a deep amber glow. This mimics the familiar behaviour of incandescent and halogen lamps and creates a far more natural, relaxing atmosphere in the evening.
Light quality you can see
With a CRI 90+ rating, this strip renders colours accurately and vividly. That matters in kitchens where food should look appetizing, in dining rooms and restaurants where faces should look healthy, in retail where products must look their best, and in homes with wood, stone and textiles that deserve to be shown in their true colours. Combined with the warm colour range, it produces light that feels comfortable and upscale rather than clinical.
Power and installation
This strip runs on 24V and is rated at 2.7W/ft (9W/m). To size your power supply, multiply that rating by the total length of each run and allow some headroom. Use a dimming system compatible with your power supply and strip, and for long installations, feed the strip at several points or divide it into zones. Clean and dry the mounting surface, avoid tight bends, and install the strip in an aluminum channel with a diffuser to hide the individual LEDs and help manage heat. Any connection to line voltage should be handled by a licensed electrician, as required by electrical codes across Canada.
Applications
Homeowners use warm dim LED strip lighting in tray and cove ceilings, under kitchen cabinets, above and below vanities, behind headboards, along stair treads and inside built-in shelving. In hospitality, it sets the tone in restaurants, wine bars, hotel rooms and lobbies, spas and lounges, where lighting should be bright during service preparation and intimate during dinner. It is also a great choice for condo projects and custom homes where designers want the charm of incandescent without its energy consumption.
Planning tip
Decide where dimmers and power supplies will be located before installation, measure each run and calculate the load using the per-foot or per-metre rating. With the LS-FLI-4B-24-224-DTW2, you get a single strip that handles both everyday light and cozy evening ambiance.
